Steven Universe Outlander: Emerald

this is Emerald. doing research one would find that the gemstone, emerald, is VERY close to diamonds in worth but far more rare than diamonds. unfortunately they're not AS durable as diamonds are. so they'd be a close 2nd or 3rd in "rank".

this one is a viceroy to Blue Diamond. she was present for the gem war but took no part in it as she saw the violence to be needless and could've been avoidable. dont ask her about that. she has shut those memories off from her mind so all she DOES remember is how beautiful Earth was and how much she wanted to be free on that planet away from the control of the Diamond Authority.

now Emerald may be a court gem but that doesn't mean she was spared from ridicule. because she's "close to being a diamond" but is "just an emerald" she was always looked down upon (literally. she's the same size as Steven) for being 2nd best.

when an opportunity arose she and her friends (Onyx, Fire Opal, and Hematite) fled from one of Blue Diamond's colonies BACK to Earth. knowing full well that the Crystal Gems were still around. they dont want any part of the conflict between HomeWorld and Earth's guardians. they just want their own personal freedoms. free from higher worth gems sneering at them, putting them down for what makes them "unique", and DEFINITELY to get away from the "2nd best is worthless" remarks regardless of rank.
